At Fairplace, we are big fans of Makedo, the super cool craft kits for building with cardboard. Makedo is a great brand (from Australia, by the way) that allows you to create fantastic things with your old cardboard boxes. By the way, you pronounce it 'make-doe', at least that's what the Aussies themselves say. 🇦🇺 We usually say 'mekedoe'.
Makedo kits are screws and accessories to connect your cardboard pieces. With the safe saw and innovative roller, you can work together or alone to build the most beautiful constructions. A particularly nice feature is that you can always unscrew and reuse the screws!

Cut, fold, build…
We give you 5 inspiring ideas to get started with Makedo. You can find all Makedo kits in our webshop, including the hinges and the new Roto-rings.
Need inspiration? You'll find plenty on Makedo's Instagram page or blog page.
1. Build a cardboard castle
Do you dream of building your own medieval castle? With Makedo, you can create the turrets, drawbridges, and walls of your dreams. Connect the cardboard pieces with Makedo screws and bring your castle to life. Add some colorful flags 🏴☠️ and toy knights, and you'll have your own kingdom to play with.
2. Invent your own animal
Is it a bird? Is it a shark? No, it's not! Step into the wild world of fantasy animals and craft your own animal with yourself in the leading role. With Makedo, you can build your own fantasy animals, or of course, you can also recreate existing animals like a shark or a dragon. Or how about a lion or your own dino?

3. Build your own spaceship
Step into the future and build your own spaceship. Cut cardboard into the shape of a rocket, add cockpit windows, and use Makedo to attach everything. Add astronauts, aliens, and even a control center to the inside of your spaceship. Ready for launch?
4. Build your supersonic car
Do you love vehicles? Create your own car garage with Makedo! Build cool race cars, awesome trucks, or classic old-timers. With Makedo, you can add wheels, doors, and windows to your vehicles. Tip: if you craft multiple cars, you can organize an exciting race with friends from the neighborhood! How cool is that?
5. Design a secret treasure chest
Hide your treasures in a secret treasure chest you made yourself. Cut and fold the cardboard into the shape of a treasure chest and use Makedo screws to secure it. You can even paint and decorate your treasure chest to make it extra special. Store your favorite toys in your homemade treasure keeper.
Happy crafting!
