Spriet's founder is Dutch Willemien van Musschenbroek, a mum with three children who is concerned about children's alienation from nature. Research shows that people who have had positive nature experiences as children are more inclined to protect nature and make more sustainable choices as adults.

Together with her Belgian friend Hannah Pector, aka Kookanje, she makes fun craft kits that allow children to bring nature closer to home.
